Supply Chain Due Diligence Law: Implementation aids for the required risk management

In a publication, the German Medical Technology Association (BVMed) provides detailed assistance for conducting a risk analysis. According to the Supply Chain Due Diligence Law (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz, or LkSG), which has been in force since this year, this must be carried out by all companies falling directly within the scope of the Act. In addition to analysis, the necessary risk management also includes assessment and prioritization as well as suitable preventive and remedial measures.

Logistics supply chain management and international goods import-export concept

The association's publication is intended to address the typical risks of the medical technology sector, in particular potential risks associated with raw materials, precursors and services used. The "Risk Analysis, Prioritization, Prevention and Remediation" module completes the association's six-part, free LkSG handout for the medical device industry.

"With the publications, we want to contribute to a uniform industry standard for the implementation of the LkSG in medical device companies. In this way, we achieve harmonization, legal certainty and efficiency," says BVMed CEO Marc-Pierre Möll.
