MedtecLIVE and MedTech Summit Newsroom

MedtecLIVE 2019 premieres in Nuremberg

MedtecLIVE 2019, the trade exhibition connecting the medical technology supply chain, is being held at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 21 to 23 May. Two packed exhibition halls will be host to a series of impressive product presentations. Also taking place in conjunction with MedtecLIVE are the international medical technology congress MedTech Summit and CARAT, the new applied x-ray technology congress. Numerous networking options like the B2B Matchmaking Event “Partnering” facilitate relaxed yet focused discussions on all aspects of future interest relating to medical technology.

“Informa markets and NürnbergMesse have joined forces to launch MedtecLIVE as a platform that will consider the future of the industry, bring appealing exhibitors to Nuremberg and encourage enthusiasm for talking and working together to develop the participants’ own businesses and the MedTech scene as a whole,” comments Alexander Stein, Director MedtecLIVE at NürnbergMesse. “With two packed halls, the two congresses and a highly attractive programme of knowledge sharing, discussion platforms and networking opportunities, the result is a truly Europe-wide meeting place for the industry.”

The exhibition features 402 exhibitors from 31 countries. Most have come from Europe, but there are also exhibitors from Saitama in Japan, for example, with a pavilion of their own. The MedTech regions of Bavaria, the Netherlands and Austria are also in attendance with their own large pavilions.

All subjects of future interest at the exhibition

The focus of the exhibition covers the major themes of future interest to the medical technology sector. On Thursday 23 May, a Breakfast Meeting will look at Brexit and the latest developments relating to Britain’s departure from the EU, with a specific focus on how companies can best accommodate the scenarios that will apply at the time, and what the repercussions and opportunities will be for business with partners from the UK.

The calendar for the exhibition forums is also full to bursting: many partner entities will look at a range of fascinating topics ranging from cyber security and artificial intelligence to coping with the shortage of skilled employees. Pitch sessions on each day of the show will also give exhibitors the opportunity to present their new developments. For the 44 start-ups at the Innovation Market Place, it will be all about new business models and technical innovations. And start-ups will have the opportunity to present their products and solutions at the MedtecLIVE “Start-up Contest”, an event supported by EIT Health, Medical Valley EMN and VCLS Neighborhood.

The key product innovations will be on show at the novelty stand, stand 115 in hall 9, where visitors can quickly gain a rapid overview of what is available.

Two powerful congresses and targeted networking

For ten years, the MedTech Summit has been an institution in the world of medical technology, with an ambit extending well beyond the confines of Europe. Held on 22 and 23 May, its 53 presentations, workshops and discussion rounds will look at the topics of future interest facing the industry and link the aspects of development and production with diagnostic and therapeutic applications. Its extensive programme ranges from robotics and data analysis to the supply chain and manufacturing, and the latest regulatory issues. CARAT, the applied x-ray technology conference, will launch on 21 and 22 May with six sessions covering the technological demands on medical x-ray devices, non-destructive testing, and a look ahead to the future of x-ray technology.

The B2B matchmaking event “Partnering” is another favourite, in which participants arrange discussion appointments online in advance, and then each have a 30-minute window to talk about shared ideas and undertakings or specific joint ventures. A few hundred of these discussion appointments had already been arranged before the start of the exhibition.

Save the date

The next MedtecLIVE will be held at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 31 March to 2 April 2020.
