Amino-functionalized coatings are a key component in many established applications in the life sciences. Amine groups can for example be used for coupling RNA, DNA, proteins and other functional biomolecules to a substrate. Our AziGrip4™ Amine coating provide an increased amine surface density, improved accessibility of the amino-groups due to a spontaneously formed nano-roughness, and a dramatically higher stability compared to the currently used aminosilane coatings.

Coating description: AziGrip4™ Amine nanostructured surface

Substrate examples: glass, quartz, silicon wafers, polyolefins (COC and COP), (plasma-activated) polymers, metal oxides (Al2O3, Ta2O5, ITO, TiO2, ZrO2, Fe2O3)

Immobilization mechanism: Electrostatic adsorption followed by a UVC or temperature-induced cross-linking reaction

  • Increased amine surface density and amine availability due to nano-roughness
  • 1-year shelf life
  • Stable against various chemicals and solvents (boiling alcohols such as ethanol or 2-propanol, water, elevated pH and temperature)
  • Suitable for inorganic (e.g. glass) and organic (e.g. polystyrene) applications
  • Suitable for patterning down to 40 µm resolution (in combination with non-fouling coatings) on chips and inside microfluidic channels

  • Protein binding inside microfluidic patterns
  • Support for particle binding
  • Transcriptional profiling, DNA methylation profiling
