Interview MedtecLIVE 2026

“Automation is becoming a strategic backbone—and MedtecLIVE makes that very clear.”

Interview with Jasmin Ecim Vettel, IMSTec GmbH

MedtecLIVE
Nürnberg, Germany

As Head of Sales Automation & Marketing at IMSTec, Jasmin Ecim Vettel operates in an environment strongly shaped by the pressure to innovate, demands for precision, and regulated production processes. Her perspective on MedtecLIVE is therefore shaped directly by real-world experience—from the challenges of manufacturing to the opportunities offered by state-of-the-art automation technology.

Ms. Ecim Vettel, how important are trade shows like MedtecLIVE to your company?

Right from the start, it’s clear that for IMSTec, MedtecLIVE is much more than just a venue for showcasing products—it’s a key platform for dialogue, market insights, and collaboration.

“Trade shows like MedtecLIVE offer us significant added value. They allow us to engage directly with our existing customers while also giving us the opportunity to meet potential new customers in person. In addition, trade shows serve as an important forum for tracking and discussing current developments and trends in the medical technology industry. We also find the shared platform for meeting potential partners or suppliers particularly valuable. It fosters targeted discussions, sparks new ideas, and strengthens our network within the industry.”

She thus emphasizes that automation projects can only achieve lasting success if technology, needs, and the partner ecosystem align seamlessly—and that is precisely why MedtecLIVE is the ideal platform.

In your opinion, what trends will shape MedtecLIVE 2026?

Looking ahead to the 2026 trade show, Jasmin Ecim Vettel identifies not only trends but also the structural shifts that are reshaping manufacturing processes worldwide.

“At the trade show, it becomes clear that the demands for automated, validatable, and fully documented production processes continue to rise. Manufacturers are navigating strict regulatory requirements—such as MDR compliance—while simultaneously facing increasing cost pressures. As a result, the need for scalable custom machinery is growing. Furthermore, the political situation is having a noticeable impact on global supply chains and international order volumes, making flexible and resilient manufacturing systems increasingly important.”

Their assessment shows that MedtecLIVE reflects a complex landscape where regulatory stringency, the need for efficiency, and geopolitical uncertainties all come into play simultaneously—and automation emerges as the key solution.

Which trends do you consider particularly forward-looking?

When it comes to future trends, Jasmin Ecim Vettel focuses in particular on technologies that make production processes more resilient, smarter, and scalable.

"Technologies that enable economically stable and regulatory-compliant manufacturing are shaping the future. Flexible custom machines and integrated system solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into existing production environments are becoming particularly important. Innovative and modularly expandable automation solutions are emerging as key competitive factors. A key driver for the future is the use of AI-supported processes—for example, in image processing, quality inspection, or process optimization.”

This makes it clear: For IMSTec, the future of medical technology is no longer conceivable without intelligent automation and AI.

How do the insights and discussions from MedtecLIVE influence your product strategy?

Especially in the fields of custom machine building and automation, concrete discussions at trade shows provide valuable insights into actual market needs.

“The discussions and insights we gained at MedtecLIVE provide us with valuable input for our strategic direction and the further development of our solutions. In particular, inquiries about specific manufacturing and testing processes—such as inspection using image processing—clearly show us in which areas we should focus on expanding our technologies. Interest in product topics such as injectable drugs and implants also highlights which requirements will need to be given greater consideration in manufacturing in the future. This allows us to tailor our solutions more precisely to our customers’ actual needs.”

Jasmin Ecim Vettel describes the trade show as a “live feedback loop” that directly influences technical roadmaps.

What added value does MedtecLIVE offer you compared to other formats?

In conclusion, it becomes clear why IMSTec considers MedtecLIVE to be particularly productive—in terms of content, organization, and atmosphere.

“For us, the MedtecLIVE trade show stands out for its very balanced ratio between the number of exhibitors and the flow of visitors. As a result, the event feels neither overcrowded nor chaotic, but instead facilitates focused discussions with industry experts. We particularly appreciate visitors who come to the booth with specific use cases. The central location of the venue makes travel easier and also contributes to the high quality of the trade show. In addition, the supporting program offers valuable insights and creates space for in-depth discussions and new perspectives.”

In doing so, she emphasizes that MedtecLIVE’s strength lies in its focus—and in the quality of the discussions.
