Automated blasting systems from BMF – the revolution in blasting technology

The challenge

In the past, parts were almost exclusively "sandblasted" by hand in a blasting cabin using compressed air. The quality varied greatly depending on the employee. Quality defects such as blasting shadows and areas of varying intensity were a recurring problem. These defects often led to rejects, which were associated with high costs.

A few years ago, BMF GmbH saw the quality fluctuations, the insufficient reproducibility of the blasting results and the high energy consumption as a challenge to develop something new.

Perfect surfaces – minimal effort

The result of this development was the  TWISTER automatic blasting system. With the help of innovative concepts, this replaced the 150-year-old technology and, for the first time, made a fully automatic post-process with measurable surface quality possible. Today, the TWISTER, TWISTER750 and TORNADO blasting systems set new standards in surface treatment.

How it works

All three blasting systems use a central blast wheel with patented blade geometry to propel the blasting media onto the rotating workpieces with high precision. This results in uniform and reproducible surface structures. A quick-change system and high capacity of up to 100 workpieces per cycle make the systems ideal for efficient post-processing. In addition, production processes can be optimised and operating costs minimised.

Possible applications
