Quality assurance for virgin plastic

It is often the little things that make a big difference – this also applies to plastic granulates used in visually and technically demanding applications

SORTCO GmbH & Co.KG
Niederzissen, Germany

This applies in particular to visually and technically demanding applications, such as those in the medical and food industries. Even microscopic burns (black specks) or discoloration (discolored pellets), as well as contamination (foreign polymers, dust, metals, wood, films, etc.) larger than 50µm (0.005 mm) in the raw material to be processed can lead to significant processing problems.

With eight state-of-the-art sorting systems and a sorting capacity of 30,000 tons/year, SORTCO monitors, detects, and separates every single granule of the raw material and removes defective components that could lead to further optical defects or functional failure.

With the high-purity material batches, processors avoid complaints and production rejects as well as damage that could lead to machine downtime and expensive repairs of hot runner systems and tools.

The unnecessary waste of material, personnel, and energy costs due to raw material defects is eliminated, contributing to the protection of the environment.
