Gamma Irradiation & Gamma Sterilisation - Versatile and Efficient Solutions

Whether for terminal sterilisation, bioburden reduction, or irradiation cross-linking - BBF Sterilisationsservice GmbH adapts to your customer requirements with flexible solutions and short lead times.

BBF Sterilisationsservice GmbH
Kernen-Rommelshausen, Germany

By operating a container system, in contrast to conventional pallet systems, BBF Sterilisationsservice GmbH can flexibly process both individual cartons and large order quantities on pallets. Irradiation takes place either in customer-specific cartons within aluminum boxes or in BBF standard sterilisation cartons. This enables targeted irradiation and compliance with narrow dose windows. Cobalt-60 is used as the irradiation source.

Products can be irradiated directly in their final packaging and, thanks to 24/7 plant operation, short lead times of 3-5 days can be achieved. Furthermore, the goods are immediately available after irradiation and do not, for example, require a quarantine period.

For temperature-sensitive materials, the flexible process at BBF Sterilisationsservice GmbH also offers the possibility of carrying out special irradiations on dry ice. If required, the dry ice is added to the goods directly on site and individually prepared for irradiation.

BBF holds a GMP certificate and a manufacturing authorisation, as well as ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 certification. This enables the irradiation of medical devices, cosmetics, and cleanroom materials, as well as the sterilisation of pharmaceuticals and clinical trial preparations.
