Figure 1:
Preoperative model of a hernia case from the VIVATOP* research project
As part of the VIVATOP research project, we produced this Hiathus Hernia Phantom using the PolyJet® process for upcoming surgical planning.

The model enables surgeons to better understand the pathology, while patients benefit from a vivid representation of their medical condition. Difficult operations and challenging medical procedures can be planned with models of this type and used for visualization.

Selection of additively manufactured solutions in the medical field
Further models from research projects can be seen, as well as laser-sintered hand and foot orthoses from Mecuris that are individually adapted to the body. The models made from PolyJet® illustrate the developmental stage of human embryos and make them tangible for us. They are used, among other things, in gynecological consultations for expecting parents.

AM Medical Days Berlin 2023 - Presentation by Hans Nopper (cirp): Tangible development of human embryos with 3D-printed teaching models
It is always a pleasure for us to be able to pass on our knowledge on the one hand and to broaden our horizons and learn more in discussions with experts on the other. Hans Nopper (F&E cirp GmbH) presented the results of the joint research project SOW - Service Oriented Value Creation, at the AM Medical Days 2023 in Berlin.
