How small filters can have a big impact

A drop of infusion solution. A breath through a ventilator. A test strip in diagnostics. They all have one thing in common: they need reliable filters. Without them, patient safety would not be guaranteed.

Although they are essential for safety, these components are hardly visible – small, inconspicuous, in the background. This is exactly where the story of our work begins.

The challenge

In the past, filters and sieves were often manufactured manually or in several steps. This led to fluctua-tions in quality, long assembly times and high series production costs.

Our concept

elfo ag therefore develops manufacturing concepts that enable fabric to be injected automatically into plastic moulds in a form-fitting, tight and reproducible manner.

The implementation

We work with our customers to develop components that are precisely tailored to their function. Whether with embedded plastic mesh or injection-moulded filter structures, we adapt the design and material pre-cisely to the application. Every step is validated, from installation qualification (IQ) to production qualifica-tion (PQ), so that our partners can reliably meet regulatory requirements.

The result

An inconspicuous plastic part becomes a vital medical device. Filters that are invisible, but can be relied upon at all times. For manufacturers, this means process reliability, consistent series quality and the cer-tainty that patients worldwide are protected.
