When it comes to processing large quantities of camera image data, the modern medical field places high demands on latency and data throughput. The innovative solution by Solectrix: the SX proFRAME system.
The SX proFRAME system is a modular video grabbing and playback system that enables the capture, recording and processing of image data. It is already being used by many companies as the basis for their own product development. With the SX proFRAME system, the ever increasing amounts of sensor data can be transferred to a standard PC with high performance. Thus, even in an early development phase, new cameras can be commissioned and camera images recorded in order to use them, e.g., as training data for neural networks or to evaluate image prototyping algorithms directly in prototypes.
The core of the PC-based system is a PCI Express board with a Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA and 512 MByte of DDR memory. Depending on the application, the SX proFRAME Base Boards can be equipped with up to four adapter boards. Our outstandingly broad spectrum of camera adapters enables the implementation of a large number of (camera) sensors via interfaces like FPD-Link III, GMSL, CoaXPress or others. In the case of video data, real-time processing is handled by FPGA-based imaging modules building on the extensive Solectrix know-how in the digital imaging field.
The SX proFRAME system comprises electronics and software components. A typical system consists of an SX proFRAME Base Board equipped with up to four camera adapters, the respective Solectrix software libraries and a customer-specific application.
