The Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC is one of the leading Bavarian R&D centers for material-based research and development in the fields of energy, environment and health.
The Fraunhofer ISC is privileged to combine first-rate expertise in materials science with long-standing experience in materials processing, application and analysis. The Institute focuses on affordable health care and regenerative therapies, on resource and energy efficiency, and on sustainability, emphasizing the use of renewable and economically friendly raw materials, the substitution of critical materials and smart and sustainable processing techniques.
In addition to contract R&D, the Fraunhofer ISC provides analytical services up into production, performs characterization tasks, optimizes processes, designs customized devices and offers the upscaling of production and processing techniques to pilot scale. The Center Smart Materials (CeSMa) is located at the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC and aims to harness the extraordinary application potential of smart materials and to dig their economic potential. At MedtecLIVE we will present elastic sensors for the detection of vital parameters (ECG; EMG) and pressure and strain measurement, which can be integrated into textiles.
The Fraunhofer Translational Center Regenerative Therapies TLC-RT develops new cell based tissue models and test systems, scalable manufacture processes, prototypes and biological vascularized implants. Therefore TLC-RT accelerates cost efficient drug development as well as promoting the 3R principles. At MedtecLIVE we will present our competences in this fields of research.
